Lois and family:  My prayers are with the family.  John walked many steps to make sure that all 4-H activities went as scheduled during Louisa County Fair days.

Our thoughts and prayers to John’s family.
Our sons spent a lot of time helping John plant walnut trees at Camp Langeood for several years along with others in the Bloomington 4-H club. He has left a wonderful legacy n 4-H . Most importantly, he had a positive influence on many young people and adults over the years.
  Respectfully, Dave and Marylu Watkins

I was saddened to hear of John's passing.  In the late 60s and early 70s I spent many hours with John working to establish 4H clubs within the city of Muscatine.  He was a great guy and I always admired him.  Most of all, he always took the time to sit and chat with a kid who was interested in joining 4H.  I'm sure he had a busy schedule but he never turned me away.  I too am in the Iowa 4H Hall of Fame and I wouldn't be where I am today without John's help when I was just a kid with some crazy ideas.

Good last flight brother, our time together happened too late and too short.
