Gloria Jean Wittmann, age 68, of Grandview, died Tuesday morning, March 7, 2017, at the Lutheran Homes in Muscatine.  The daughter of Shirley Strong, she was born on July 16, 1948 in Muscatine.  Gloria married Arnold LeRoy Wittmann on June 10, 1967 in Muscatine.

She graduated from Muscatine High School in 1966.  One of her favorite things was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends.  She loved to play games (especially Skip-Bo), color, and do puzzles.  She loved to laugh with everyone and that laugh brightened the day.  She loved to take car rides with the love of her life, ‘Arnie’.  They would drive around and enjoy the beautiful scenery surrounding them.  Gloria and Arnie spent almost 50 years together as husband and wife and would light up any room they entered.

Gloria is survived by her husband, Arnold; a daughter, Sherri Wittmann of Muscatine; two sons, Christopher (Kim) Wittmann of Noblesville, Indiana and Eric Wittmann of Muscatine; five grandchildren, Allan, Brooke, Kirra, Hannah, and Vince.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley and Oscar Schmidt; and a brother, Richard Schmidt.

The family will meet friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello with the funeral ceremony to follow at 12:00 noon at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home.  Rev. Darryl Erickson will officiate.  Burial will follow at the Grandview Cemetery in Grandview.

Oh Arnie, how saddened I am to hear this. Gloria was one of the best!! I always looked forward to your visits. She had such a big heart and always taking care of everybody else. Wish I could be there to give you a hug but I regret I can not. Give Eric and Sherry my sympathy too. I think of you often and hope that you are doing ok. Love Nurse Becky
