Ima Jean Wesselink, age 70, of Wapello, died Thursday morning, October 13, 2016, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.  The daughter of Clay ‘Pete’ and Edna Durrett Belzer, she was born on August 15, 1946 in Burlington.  Jean married Harold ‘Wes’ Wesselink on May 14, 1967 in Wapello.  He preceded her in death on April 28, 2016.

Jean graduated from Wapello High School in 1964 and from AIC in Davenport.  She was a homemaker and had worked as a waitress at the Hiway Pantry in Wapello and as a clerk at P n P and Kum n Go for several years.  She loved to read and listen to her LP music.  She also enjoyed watching sports especially the Cubs and Hawkeyes.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa ‘Missy’ & Andrew ‘Ozzie’ Osborne of Iowa City; two sons, Michael Wesselink & Stephanie Waddell of Iowa City and Joey Wesselink of Wapello; seven grandchildren, Zach and Brianna Fry, Reece, Mackenzie, and Alyssa Wesselink, and Lincoln and Riley Osborne; and a brother, Darrel Belzer of rural Burlington.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wes; and a daughter, Amy Michelle on February 21, 1991.

Following cremation, a funeral ceremony will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello with Rev. Pam Kranzler officiating.  Burial will follow at the Wapello Cemetery.

A Memorial Fund has been established to help the family with a monument for their parents.
