F. Dot Peck, age 96, of Wapello and formerly of rural Oakville, died Monday morning, March 28, 2016, at the Wapello Specialty Care.  She was born at Eudora, Missouri to Ernest and Martha Wynkoop Acuff on March 8, 1920.  She graduated from Marshfield High School in Missouri.  Dot married Donald Peck on April 26, 1941 in Mt. Pleasant.  He preceded her in death on September 10, 2004.

She worked as a nurse’s aide
at Klein’s Hospital in Burlington for 11 years.  Dot raised a big garden, always had chickens, and loved flowers.  She and her husband spent winters in Zapata, Texas for 26 years and they also visited Jamaica 11 times where her sister was a missionary.  They lived on a farm Northeast of Oakville over 63 years.  She attended the Oakville Community Bible Church formally the Church of God Holiness.

Her surviving family includes a daughter, Carol & Kenny Gerst of Wapello; a son, Ernest & Harla Peck of Wapello; 6 grandchildren, Kenna & Jim Baber, Denise & Stan Wood, Janean & Bill McDowell, Dawn & Tim Wagner, Darrin Peck, and DeeDee & Scott Pfeiffer; 16 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and their families.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; 2 brothers; and 3 sisters.

The funeral ceremony for Dot Peck will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at the Oakville Community Bible Church with Pastor Jim Ruberg and Pastor Steven
Parker officiating.  Burial will follow at the Edwards Cemetery at Oakville.

Friends may call from 3:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello where the family will meet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Memorial gifts will benefit the Oakville Community Bible Church, Wapello Specialty Care, and the Great River Hospice.

Carol, Ernie & families. So sorry to hear of Dot's passing. We intended to come to the service but the weather stopped us. Please accept our condolences and I am sending a card. It is wonderful to have a parent for so many years.
