Janice Marie Boyer, age 82, of rural Oakville, died Sunday evening, January 4, 2015, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.  The daughter of Hubert and Madeline Peterson Conaway, she was born on July 28, 1932 in Davis County, Iowa.  Janice married Donald C. Boyer on March 8, 1953 in Mt. Pleasant.  

She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1950.  She worked for a short time at the Mt. Pleasant News.  Janice was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, camping, cooking, and her flower garden.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church and UMW of Oakville.  She had been a 4H Leader for many years.

Her family includes her husband, Don; two sons, Jeff & Barb Boyer and Doug & Jane Boyer both of rural Oakville; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law Donna Conaway of Mt. Pleasant.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Joe Conaway; and a daughter, Jodi Sue.

The funeral ceremony for Janice Boyer will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 8, 2015, at the United Methodist Church in Oakville with Rev. Sue-Ellen Sherman officiating.  Burial will follow at the Edwards Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello where the family will meet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

A Memorial Fund has been established for the benefit of Hope Haven Development Center in Burlington.
