Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Mary Wiegand Grimm, age 89, of Wapello, died Friday, August 2, 2013, at the Wapello Nursing & Rehab Center.  The daughter of Joseph and Edna Fisher Wiegand, she was born on January 26, 1924 in Taylor, Missouri.  She married Jess C. Grimm on June 22, 1961 in Oakville.  He preceded her in death on October 24, 1992.

Elizabeth graduated from Oakville High School and attended Business School in Burlington.  Before her marriage she worked as a secretary at J I Case in Burlington.  She was a homemaker on the farm where she enjoyed entertaining, gardening, and cooking.  She enjoyed children of all.

She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church of Oakville / Mediapolis.

Her family includes three daughters, Janet Jordan of Columbus Junction, Marilyn Keldgord of Wapello, and Tammy McLain of Marietta, Georgia; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four sisters, Eunice Wuthrich of Morton, Illinois, Hazel Geyer of Peoria, Illinois, Joan Lanz of Oakville, and Sharon Hodel of Peoria, Illinois; and a brother, Al Wiegand of Morning Sun.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jess; and two brothers, Joe and Ralph Wiegand.

The funeral ceremony for Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Grimm will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 5, 2013, at the Apostolic Christian Church in Mediapolis.  The Ministers of the Church will officiate.  Burial will follow at the Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery, rural Oakville.

The family will meet friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Sunday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello.  There will also be a luncheon gathering at the Apostolic Christian Church in Mediapolis after the committal.

A Memorial Fund has been established for the benefit of the Apostolic Christian Church and Great River Hospice.
