Dale Wilford Wehage, age 80, of Wapello, died Sunday afternoon, February 25, 2018, at the Wapello Specialty Care.  The son of Art and Selma Andries Wehage, he was born on August 13, 1937 in Kingston.  Dale married Nancy Hainey on August 13, 1957 at the Salem Lutheran Church.

He graduated from Huron High School.  Dale had worked at the Kingston Grocery Store, the Burlington Northern Railroad, Leigh-Leopold, a farmhand for Rothel Walker and Orin and Elmer Hayes, and then at Oakville Feed and Grain for 28 years.  After the flood of 2008, they moved to Wapello and Dale worked at the Wapello Jack & Jill Grocery Store.

Dale belonged to the Solid Rock Baptist Church, he enjoyed flea markets and was a Corn Items Collector. He also enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and especially being a jokester.

His family includes his wife, Nancy; two sons, Michael Wehage & Heidi Hemphill of Wapello and Wesley Wehage of Wapello; three grandchildren, Haley & Tyler Vahle of Burlington, Bryan Wehage of Burlington, and Kevin & Becky Wehage of Mediapolis; two great grandchildren, Riley and Taylor Wehage of Burlington; a sister, Alice Long of Muscatine; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Kenneth and Ronnie; a grandson, Eddie; and a granddaughter, Tiffany.

The funeral ceremony for Dale Wehage will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at the Solid Rock Baptist Church in Wapello with Pastor Dan Doolin officiating.  Burial will follow at the Edwards Cemetery in Oakville with a lunch to follow at the Church.

Memorial Gifts will benefit the Solid Rock Baptist Church.

We have a lot of good, fun memories of Dale and Nancy. I am sure Dale is doing his pranks in Heaven.
