Lois W. Singleton, age 93, of Wapello, died Friday morning, May 19, 2017, at the Colonial Manor in Columbus Junction.  The daughter of Melville and Irma Kiner Milligan, she was born on November 14, 1923 in rural Wapello.  She married Gale Singleton on January 11, 1941 in Muscatine.  He preceded her in death on April 2, 2004.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed every aspect of that.  She had attended the Church Of The Nazarene in Wapello.

Her family includes a daughter, Sharon & Don Wood of Wapello; a son, Dave & Shelly Singleton of Wapello; five grandchildren; Jeff Underwood, Amanda Tipps, Shad Singleton, Sara Maddux, and Seth Singleton; eight great grandchildren, Shae Singleton, Tate Singleton, Wyatt Singleton, Landry Singleton, Alexis Harris, Dawson Tipps, Emily Tipps, and Teagan Maddux; and a sister, Nadine Paris of Wapello.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gale; a brother, Elmer Milligan; and a sister, Eva Williams.

The funeral ceremony for Lois Singleton will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello with Pastor Dan Doolin officiating.  Burial will follow at the Mallory Cemetery, rural Wapello.  A lunch gathering will follow at the Corner Market in Wapello.

The family will meet friends from 5:30 to 7:00 PM on Monday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home.

Memorial gifts will benefit the Washington County Hospice.
