Thomas Edward Jennings, age 69, of Mt. Union, died Tuesday evening, April 25, 2017, at his home.  The son of Harvey and Geraldine Walsh Jennings, he was born on April 6, 1948 in Burlington.  He married Sharon Connolly on June 9, 1968.

He graduated from Winfield-Mt. Union High School in 1967.  Thomas served for 20 years in the US Air Force and retired as a Master Sargent.  He worked for 28 years with the civil service through Offit Air Force Base in Omaha.  He was a lifetime member of the VFW.

His grandchildren were the joy of his life along with enjoying time spent with family.  He also enjoyed anything mechanical, airplanes, and the opportunities of flying all over Europe.

His family includes his wife, Sharon; a son, Thomas Edward Jennings, Jr. (Jackie) of Winfield; seven grandchildren, AJ, Brooke, Erica, Emma, Brian, Amber, and David; one great grandson, Mason; four brothers, Michael Jennings of Winfield, Tim Jennings (Sandy) of Omaha, Nebraska, Mark Jennings of Pacific Junction, and John Jennings of Fairfield; and five sisters, Susan Steffins (Dean) of Missouri, Pat Wolf (John) of Cedar Rapids, Veronica McBride of Crawfordsville, Regina Wilson (Ray) of New London, and Mary Snyder (Eldon) of Iowa City.  He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Brian and Michael; a brother Stanley; and a sister, Elizabeth.

The family will meet with friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello with the funeral ceremony to follow at 12:00 noon.  Burial will follow at the Wapello Cemetery with military rites by the Wapello VFW.  A lunch gathering will follow at the Solid Rock Baptist Church in Wapello.

My most deepest sympathies go to Sharon and her family. Tom was bigger then life and he'll be missed by many for sure. His suffering is over now, he's with our Lord now. May Tom rest in peace.
